OAKBERRY has quickly made its mark on Ireland’s food scene, bringing organic açaí bowls from Brazil to Dublin and beyond. Since opening their first Irish store in 2023, the brand has expanded to more than ten locations, with demand continuing to surge. We sat down with Anthony Kilpatrick, who helps run OAKBERRY Ireland, to talk about the brand’s rapid growth, their technology-first mindset, and how Stream is helping them scale seamlessly as they expand nationwide.

About the Business / Story of OAKBERRY
OAKBERRY is originally a Brazilian brand, and the whole idea is simple: making healthy food fast. Everything revolves around açaí bowls that are organic and free from artificial preservatives. The company controls the whole process from harvesting the berries in the Amazon Rainforest right through to the final bowl, so quality and consistency are at the core. We brought OAKBERRY to Ireland in 2023, opening our first store on South Anne Street in Dublin. Since then, it’s really taken off, with that store becoming the best-performing OAKBERRY location in Europe. Demand has been incredible, which is why we’ve already expanded into over ten locations in Ireland, with many more in the pipeline. The response shows that Irish customers are more health-conscious than ever and really appreciate having a nutritious option that still fits into a busy lifestyle.
Technology Mindset at OAKBERRY
We’ve always had a tech-friendly mindset, because speed, convenience, and consistency are such a big part of what we do. Digital tools help us streamline ordering, run our loyalty program, sell gift cards, and let customers order ahead for collection. But for us, it’s not just about picking the latest shiny system: our staff are a huge part of the decision-making. Across the retail industry, teams are often handed tech they weren’t consulted on and then expected to make it work. We take the opposite approach: if our people can’t use it easily, it won’t work for us. That’s why we involve staff in testing and feedback whenever we introduce something new. The result is a setup that helps both customers and the team, reduces friction, and makes it easier to scale as we open more stores.
POS + 3rd Party Delivery via Stream
For our point-of-sale, we use Toast. Stream is the integration we’ve added to manage orders from Deliveroo. Before this, we had separate devices all over the counter, which slowed things down. Now, everything flows directly into our POS and straight onto the kitchen screens, just like a regular in-store order. It means our team doesn’t have to juggle multiple tablets, and customers get a smoother, faster service.

Previous Setup / Before Stream
Before Stream, things were honestly a bit messy. Each platform had its own tablet or screen, and our team had to do a lot of things manually. At busy times, that slowed everything down and increased the chance of mistakes. From a stock control perspective, it was nearly impossible to track properly. We also tried an alternative integration before Stream, but that meant duplicating menus on our POS, and keeping sales and stock aligned was almost as messy as before. This is what pushed us to find a proper integration that could keep pace with our growth. With Stream, we now have one place to manage all stores centrally, can adjust prices across the board in just a few clicks, and no longer need to create duplicate menus. What we like most is how easy it is to add new locations and onboard them ourselves, without having to book calls with consultants. After our first onboarding session, we knew the ropes and were able to manage everything independently from then on. The support line is always there if needed, but day to day, the system just works.
Future Plans / Vision for OAKBERRY
Looking ahead, our vision is to keep building OAKBERRY into a household name in Ireland, with a mix of high-street stores, shopping centre kiosks, along with further expansion outside of Dublin. At the heart of it, we want OAKBERRY to be the go-to choice for anyone who wants something healthy, quick, and satisfying, without compromising on quality.

OAKBERRY’s success in Ireland shows what’s possible when strong brand vision meets the right technology. By pairing their people-first approach with Stream’s infrastructure, Anthony and the team have created a setup that’s fast, scalable, and built for growth. As OAKBERRY continues expanding across Ireland and beyond, we’re proud to be part of their journey.
