From Missed Calls to Seamless AI: How Loman.ai Is Redefining Restaurant Phone Ordering

October 22, 2025

From phone chaos to frictionless automation - Loman.ai is redefining how restaurants handle calls, orders, and reservations. Founded by Christian Wiens, a former restaurant operator who saw firsthand how missed calls meant missed revenue, Loman.ai transforms the phone into a powerful, AI-driven sales channel. Their voice AI answers every call instantly, takes orders, books reservations, and syncs directly with POS and delivery systems - ensuring restaurants never miss an opportunity. In this sit-down, Christian shares how Loman.ai is changing the front-of-house experience and how partnering with Stream helps make those seamless integrations possible.

The Origin of Loman.ai

Stream: Christian, what inspired the creation of Loman.ai? How did you identify the need for AI-driven phone ordering in the restaurant industry, and what problem were you most passionate about solving?

CW: I spent over a decade working in the front of house of restaurants with the exact problems we’re fixing today: nonstop phone calls, missed orders, and overworked staff. Every night I watched restaurants lose revenue simply because no one could get to the phone fast enough. The “aha” moment came when I realized the phone is still the single highest-intent channel in restaurants, but it’s also the most broken. Loman was born to fix that. We built a voice AI that sounds human, takes orders, books reservations, and connects directly into the restaurant’s POS and reservation systems so nothing slips through the cracks.

Redefining Restaurant Operations with AI

Stream: AI is transforming how restaurants interact with guests. How does Loman.ai help operators manage phone orders, reservations, and customer inquiries more efficiently, and what kind of impact are you seeing on day-to-day operations?

CW: Loman.ai acts like a digital host who never calls in sick. It answers every call instantly, handles multiple conversations at once, and syncs orders and reservations in real time. Operators tell us it’s like adding a new front-of-house team member overnight, one who never misses a call. On average, restaurants using Loman see a 26% increase in phone order revenue, a 23% higher ticket size, and zero missed calls. It’s not just automation, it’s revenue capture and better guest experience at scale.

The Technology Behind the Partnership

Stream: As one of Stream’s white-label partners, how has our integration helped power Loman.ai’s offering, particularly around order management, POS connectivity, and digital workflows?

CW: Stream has been a key infrastructure partner for us. Their connectivity layer allows us to tie into 25+ POS and ordering systems seamlessly - Toast, Square, Clover,  NCR, and more. That means every time our AI takes an order, it’s flowing instantly into the restaurant’s live system with accurate menu data, pricing, and modifiers. Stream basically gives us the plumbing that makes the magic possible. It’s what allows Loman to onboard new restaurants in under 48 hours and deliver bulletproof reliability.

Customer Success & Real-World Impact

Stream: Can you share an example of how Loman.ai has helped a restaurant or multi-unit brand improve operations or guest experience through automation and connected technology?

CW: A great example is Midland Pizza Factory in Texas. Before Loman, they were missing hundreds of calls a month. After Loman, they've recaptured nearly $200,000 a year in lost orders. Since going live, they’ve eliminated missed calls completely, freed up staff to focus on in-store guests, and grown phone revenue by over 25%. Stories like that are common, another multi unit Pizza chain in Ohio (DeCheco's Pizzeria) is seeing over 23% increase in average order value and over $2,500 saved per location in labor.

Looking Ahead

Stream: What’s next for Loman.ai? As AI adoption accelerates in hospitality, where do you see the biggest opportunities for innovation, and how do partnerships like ours with Stream fit into that future?

CW: We’re just scratching the surface. The next frontier is full-stack automation, connecting phone conversations to loyalty, CRM, payments, and guest analytics so restaurants can understand and serve every customer like a regular. Partnerships like Stream are critical because they make that connected ecosystem real. The goal isn’t just to answer calls, it’s to make the phone a data-rich, revenue-driving channel again.
