Stream Local Business Spotlight - September '25

September 5, 2025

We’re kicking off our new series, Stream Local Business Spotlight, with none other than The Kebab Shop. In this series, we sit down with some of our restaurant partners to share the story behind their business, highlight the team driving their success, and explore how they’re embracing technology to keep growing.

Q: Could you tell us a little more about your business, the story behind it, and where you’re headed?

A: We started The Kebab Shop in downtown San Diego back in 2007 with the dream of making a new style of Mediterranean food that was approachable for everyone. Since then we have grown into 50+ locations across California, Texas, and Florida. Our focus has always been fire-cooked food, scratch-made recipes, and genuine hospitality. Where we’re headed is simple: we want to keep sharing our version of New-School Mediterranean, a fresh, modern take on traditional recipes, with even more communities.

Q: What’s your mindset behind leveraging technology at The Kebab Shop?

A: For us, tech is all about supporting the guest experience and making life easier for our team. We’re not trying to replace hospitality; we’re trying to enhance it.  By using the right technology, we can reduce friction, streamline operations, and give our staff more time to focus on what matters: serving great food and connecting with guests.

Q: How has connecting your POS to your 3rd-party delivery channels via Stream helped your business?

A: It’s been a game changer. By integrating directly into our POS, we eliminated the need for extra tablets cluttering up the counter, which means fewer missed orders, less manual entry, and no wasted time. The process is seamless now.  That helps our team stay focused on the kitchen and the guest in front of them, not on juggling screens.

Q: How was this all managed previously?

A: Before Stream, we had to manage multiple third-party tablets, manually inputting orders into our POS. It was clunky, time-consuming, and left a lot of room for error. The team would often have to split their attention between guests in-store and keeping up with incoming delivery orders, which wasn’t ideal for anyone.

Q: Beyond tech, what’s next for The Kebab Shop? What can customers expect from TKS over the next few years?

A: We’re focused on expanding into more cities and continuing to evolve our New-School Mediterranean menu. Guests can expect bold new dishes, creative spins on classics, and more ways to enjoy TKS.  Whether that’s in-store, pickup, delivery, or catering. Beyond the food, we’re doubling down on our promise to take care of our people and our communities. That means continuing to invest in our team, give back locally, and make sure every guest interaction feels memorable.
