Stream and Uber Partner to Bring Autonomous Robot Delivery to Restaurants
This partnership enables fast, contactless, and fully electric robot deliveries for restaurants in select cities where Uber offers autonomous delivery.
2026 is off to a fast start… and the robots are behind the wheel.

A Smarter Way to Deliver
Operational bottlenecks; crowded pickup counters, delivery delays, and inconsistent handoffs, can slow kitchens down and impact the guest experience. Autonomous delivery changes that.
Through Stream’s integration with Uber’s autonomous vehicle (AV) delivery network, fully electric robots arrive curbside to pick up orders, keeping pickup areas clear while protecting food in insulated, locked compartments. The result: less congestion, fresher food, and a seamless, contactless delivery experience for customers - at no additional cost to restaurants.
Because AV deliveries travel directly from your restaurant to the customers - no stops & no detours, meals arrive upright, on time, and just as fresh as when they left the kitchen.
How Robot Delivery Works
Robot delivery is designed to be effortless for restaurant teams. Once enabled, handling an autonomous pickup is just as simple as any other order:
- Get notified by Stream - When an autonomous vehicle arrives curbside, your team receives an instant notification.
- Load the order into the robot - Bring the prepared meal outside and place it into the vehicle’s insulated compartment. There’s no rush - the robot will wait up to 10 minutes for handoff.
- The robot secures the order and departs - Once loaded, the vehicle automatically locks and begins its direct route to the customer.
No new hardware. No staffing changes. No added complexity. Once robot delivery is enabled through Stream, eligible orders are automatically routed to autonomous vehicles with no additional configuration required.
